Biography

Born in Haifa, lives in Jerusalem.

Graduate of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem with a degree in Linguistics and Hebrew & Arab Literature. Taught Arabic at the university and at high school in Jerusalem.

Studied painting with Jerusalem painters Marc Yannai and Dalia Na’avai.

Member of the Jerusalem Association of Painters and Sculptors.

Organized numerous exhibitions in Jerusalem and all over Israel.

Paints with a unique mixed technique, using wooden stamps with acrylic paint and pastel colors.

At the beginning of her career, Tami Guttman painted in a realistic, precise and meticulous style; influenced by visits to India and Japan, she turned to a more informal way of painting, with a tendency towards surrealism.

The paintings shown at this exhibition are affected by the rich colors of India and elements of the Japanese kimono.
